First of all, imagine it. Dream it.
The more we picture people Loving the Earth, the more we become those people ourselves. We sing about it, this future, and the future moves toward us and takes us in.
We keep singing and working like we would for a loved one, and our love is the Earth. We are working as a part of an intense planet-wide change. Unprecedented change. This new kind of intense Evolution is taking over. (Although we call it bad weather or bad luck.)
We still have the chance to partner with this Evolution, as the Earth guides life toward a different future. We might still be able to ease back into our home eco-system at the end, after centuries of refusing life’s scary glory.
To love the Earth you want to save its life. To love yourself, you want to Earth to save you.
Love the hand in your hand. That’s the Earth
The smallest thing is a doorway to the largest, and vice versa. Love them both, touch both, the intimate and the distant, the delicate open hand and the world-swallowing black hole, and then we have the vivid perspective of nature.
We can love our local self on the street where we live – and love the Earth all the way through the walls the empires built to keep the barbarians in the darkness. The Earth eats walls for breakfast. That’s the appetite we want.
We believe that the Earth is beautiful and only beautiful – and that tourist’s post-card is a human trap. The Change has come though, and now the real-life beauty carries difficult messages, killer storms, species extinction, ravaging floods. Over-civilized humans have automatic responses in place for this, calling the Earth’s actions, “unprecedented tragedy” or “freak storm”.
Forget that fear. Let your love find a new kind of beauty that has 200 mph winds in it. Clearly, it is time for a new language, a revolutionary messaging service that Loves the Earth. Let’s recycle all humanity’s garbage that we can and be patient, the Earth will give us the words.
Repeat the phrase “I love you Earth” until it isn’t embarrassing.

To Know the Earth Well , Distinguish it from Imitators.
We need to be realistic about this unrealistic time. In this time, we are walking through the whirling debris of an unacknowledged Apocalypse. How is it possible to ignore the chaos in today’s sky and soil and water? This is what the major institutions do every day. Where the piles of money are gathered, the silence is manufactured.
The investor class now owns the media, and they tell us over and over that the Earth’s revolt is merely an extra-large Chevrolet with a bad carburetor. They have the nerve to call the Earth a machine? Even now?
The Earth is ALIVE, and that’s why we can love it with our fingers, with our thoughts with a new melody that we hum. Receive the life. Let the Earth come to us. Don’t cover the wild horizon with dreams of products, (machines again.) We need to stay open to the Earth’s signals. The Life itself is the best strategist.
Then, to survive, we have the example of the animals and plants who are revolutionary every moment. Living things are the heroes. They are strange enough and brave enough to change enough.
Every living being has a way that it loves the Earth, a genius evolutionary feature. The new human love can take the form of direct action against the Earth-haters…. We can offer the fossil people and the gun people and the invisible toxins people our new loving Earth language. We can sing our new words and make the message from the Earth mesmerizing.
Teach Love Earth to them as we stop their poisons, their bullets, their theft of our imaginations.

Will there be someone who remembers us? Will history say that we were the ones who created a mass extinction and then pretended not to notice it?
Living for years in your own Ecocide, and calling it “Democracy” and “Freedom” and “Great Entertainment”. Well, industrial virtual reality is low-rent magic but is also very convincing. Millions are going there.
The amusement park of a virtual Earth is such an obvious lie, but our children, like the rest of nature, are not born consumers. The newest life will say No! – and show us the way.
