Earth Girl - Second Song of the Day

Report from the first thousand miles

The fans along the trail of the “love earth tour” – and the whole experience of traveling with Neil Young and Daryl Hannah’s caravan of friends – are raising up new beliefs. You can imagine these big crowds having a kind of conversation with us about today’s crisis.

1. We can be radical Americans again. We have done this before. Now we are being called on once again to be “Strange enough to change enough.”
2. There is a social movement building like a new ecosystem. It has lots of shocking music. Everyday work music. Peace music. Love songs. If we don’t have melody and beat we veer off in teleprompters and advertisements and “isms.”
3. The Earth is an intelligent living breathing being who is communicating with us at this time in many ways, including fire and flood, new devastating verions of rallies and marches. The Earth is our leading activist. The First Nations people were right all along.
4. Bring the billionaire poisoners of the air, water and soil back into the community of living beings. Don’t hate them. The skull of Luigi’s CEO should have been penetrated by the natural disaster of justice. That insurance guy needed a blast of 200 mph wind.
5. New forms of gathering encourage start-ups without shopping. We see that institutions are crashing. Enter the era of good gangs, terrifying town hall meetings, doo-wop harmonizers, door to door Christmas-free carolers… The Earth canceled capitalism.
