In 1976 I was a student at the University of Buffalo. That summer, Neil and Stephen Stills were touring together (Stills-Young Band) and amazingly they were going to hit both Niagara Falls and Rochester, New York. Of course I bought tickets for both concerts
The Niagara Falls concert was at the Convention Center on July 4th (America’s 200th Anniversary) and so I headed out to the concert early and found myself hanging out by the backstage door, hoping to catch a glimpse of Neil or Stephen.
Late that afternoon, Neil and another guy strode out. Neil said “Hi!” and mentioned that he “was heading out to get a bite to eat before the show.” Neil was so gracious and he also signed my concert ticket, “Thanks, Neil Young”.
So happy I had my Kodak Instamatic ready!
