Disc 0: Early Years (1963-1965)
From the Squires back in Winnipeg, my first band that played in front of people and recorded, to Fort William where we recorded at CJLX, a local station with DJ Ray Dee, to Toronto with my friend Comrie Smith from school days, to Elektra studios in NYC to make my first demo, thiswas my beginning.

Disc 1: Early Years (1966-1968)
From the beginning of Buffalo Springfield, through nearly two years, from my earliest recordings with Jack Nitzsche, and my last with Buffalo Springfield.

Disc 2: Topanga 1 (1968-1969)
The beginnings. Earliest recordings with David Briggs, my life-long friend and great producer. Without David many things would never have happened, my guide in the early years. My first album, including my second release with late-great Jack Nitzsche, then my first album with Crazy Horse, the band of our life-times. My first solo recordings from Canterbury House are here – Sugar Mountain, done during the making of ‘Everybody Knows This is Nowhere’.

Disc 3: Live At The Riverboat (1969)
A return to Yorkville, my old haunt in Toronto, where I met Bruce Palmer – Buffalo Springfield bassist. The Riverboat was a folk club there, where I witnessed many of the greats in 1965 – John Lee Hooker, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Phil Ochs, The Dirty Shames and more. To return there solo was a big thing for me.

Disc 5: Live At The Fillmore East (1970)
Produced by Paul Rothchild, this is the first live recording of Crazy Horse. I will never forget this gig with Danny Whitten, maybe the last with him before his untimely death. The late-great Jack Nitzsche was with us here too. A great record of the times.

Disc 6: Topanga 3 (1970)
Living in Topanga Canyon with my first wife, Susan, recording in our new home studio there, with David Briggs, producing ‘After The Goldrush’. Then recording ‘Ohio’ with CSNY, followed closely by live CSNY recordings, another CSNY studio recording, ‘Music Is Love’, followed by a solo recording of ‘See the Sky About to Rain,’ live at the Cellar Door in Washington DC.

Disc 7: Live At Massey Hall (1971)
On my first solo live tour of USA and Canada, when I reached Toronto, playing Massey Hall, in one of then most memorable of shows for me. It was like a homecoming! Produced with David Briggs.

Disc 8: North Country (1971-1972)
Demo session at A&M studios in LA, with Henry Lewy. Live recordings at Royce Hall LA, Henry Lewy recording, as we were continuing the solo tour of USA/Canada. The Nashville Harvest recordings with the late-great Elliot Mazer at the board and Tim Drummond, Ben Keith, Kenny Buttery, all gone now, but still here with us in the music. Next was the London Symphony Orchestra, Jack Nitzsche arranging and producing. Then to my new home, Broken Arrow Ranch near Redwood California, where we recorded, in the Barn, doing three more songs.

Disc 9: Journey Through The Past 1972
(film BluRay)
Our first ‘Shakey Pictures’ film, a documentary of sorts with David Meyers – DP, L.A. Johnson, Jeanne Field, plus Frederic Underhill – producer, helping me on my way. What a Journey it had been.
