Traveling to the mountains with my lovely wife, we just passed the 80,000 mile mark! This is based on the Lincvolt speedometer reset to 0 when we installed the current power train, generator and battery pack.
About 7 years ago, after a fire destroyed most of the car and we started over, we have logged 80 thousand miles on electric power! 55-MPG in a 1959 Lincoln!.
It happened just last week on a trip from California to Colorado, where we crossed Monument Valley and headed into the Rockies.
Designed to run on pure Ethanol, on this journey our generator was challenged, but still did perform on fossil fuel. The car performed beautifully, even though the generator was struggling from a lack of E85 fuel available on the route.
Lincvolt runs well on E85 and even better on pure Ethanol. Fossil Fuel is a dirty and distant third. Ethanol is a sustainable fuel, Renewable. It grows from the sun, rain and earth.
Misleading information about ethanol is everywhere. Don’t believe the hype of the fossil fuel industry. They even say it takes fossil fuel to transport ethanol, making it less sustainable. What a load! That does not have to be. It is more “made up facts” from your government and its collapsing fossil fuel industry.
We are so happy to have crossed the 80,000 mile threshold! Soon ninety!!!
Neil
