This year I have resolved to try to kick fossil fuels. In Greta Thunberg and many other young people like her I have seen the dedication of young people trying to save their home for future generations. It is now past time for everyone to act, doing all they can. I am fortunate enough to have an electric car, Lincvolt, and for back-up I am going to use a bio-diesel car whenever Lincvolt is being serviced.
Trying to find a bio-diesel car or truck is pretty straight forward. Any diesel built during 2006 or earlier can and will run on bio diesel. Eventually you may need to replace rubber seals and hoses. Not right away, but eventually . . . within a year you will need to do this. It’s not expensive. Older Mercedes vehicles are particularly great and I am looking at a couple of those for back ups to Lincvolt right now.
Of course, my fossil fuel cars are beautiful and I have been driving them for years and years. They are full of memories of my life but it’s time to park them and step into the responsible future. That will be hard to do but it must be done.
When I get my bio-diesel back-up car or truck for Lincvolt, I will write about it here, letting you know how it is. In the meantime E85 cars are also a good step to take, as long as you really use E85 and not gasoline.
In a future story here I will illuminate how the fossil fuel industry (Big Oil) has fought back against all bio-fuels with false statements and how erroneous government policies mislead people on behalf of the the fossil fuel industry.
