I am a life-long fan of Neil. He is my favorite musician in the world. I am honored to share a very special story in Member Central.
The other evening I was laying with my 3-year-old granddaughter, and she said, “Gamma, play Tired Eyes.” It’s her new favorite Neil song. Though she has no comprehension of what the song is about, she loves the melody and Neil’s sad and soothing voice. He is her bedtime storyteller.
When she was 2, Ambulance Blues was her favorite song. Her love for Neil was instant and she wants to hear him over and over, just like Gamma does. She loves other songs too… like Distant Camera and The Great Divide. How can a baby love such profound songs? She knows many others and is starting to sing or hum to them. It’s incredible!
What is it about this magical music man who can touch the hearts of babies to old folks? It is something that truly amazes me and fills me with such joy.
Neil is part of our family and for that I am so grateful.
We love him dearly.
