Fargo Jason here and close to home is the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt presidential library out in the badlands area.
They had the by-invitation-only open house a couple of days ago, which was attended by some donors that I know as well as Doug Burgum, his kids my wife taught about 25 years ago here in Fargo, Doug went on to become governor of North Dakota and now is a Trump lackey.
Anyway, as I reflected on an article about Burgum attending the opening on a horse (giving that Roughrider vibe) and today being the 4th of July, I was wondering about your interest in the TR presidential library, and if you were to come up to see it, what would you arrive in or on?
Seems like you would be a Teddy supporter.

I just want to tell Neil thank you. My late father and I would play his music every day! We bonded over the time and my dad taught me what Neil was singing about. My ol’ man played a mean harmonica and would often play with just his spirit as we were eating salsa and chips from our garden. My dad laid block for 43 years and found his happy place in our log cabin in north Central Minnesota. We used to fish almost every day, and every single night jam to Neil Young. Neil still brings peace to this 40-year-old veteran’s heart! Thank you Neil! I wish I could shake your hand someday, but I certainly understand how time works! I can’t thank you enough for all of the great songs and creating songs that my father and I can BOTH relate to. I can’t hear any of your songs without thinking of my ol’ man! I still listen to your music every day. Even when I was in Iraq, your music helped me through dark times and still helps work through the recent loss of my dad. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world, sir! You mean very much to myself and my family. When we received the news that Dad wasn’t going to make it through the cancer, I sat there like a deer in the headlights and didn’t know what to do or say. I was 39 years old and a hardened combat veteran, and had no clue what to do! The only thing that came to my mind was “Harvest Moon!” It brought a calm to that hospital room! That was November of 2024. Because of your music, I was able to see peace in my father in his final days! Thank you! I really hope Neil has a chance to read this! My name is Pat. If I may have the honor of addressing this to both you and Daryl concerning your recent free gift of the “Corduroy Pants” film to, well everyone. I am a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Turtle Clan, Concharty Town. We have one word which I would like you to have: “MVTO” meaning Thank You, That’s the Right Stuff, Great, awesome, etc. The art piece as a whole Mvto, and specifically the Cortez the Killer segment, the music, archival film placements made me feel unforgotten. Dear Mr. Young,
My name is Susie Walch. I’m writing a memoir about my own lifelong experience with epilepsy, something I lived with, mostly undiagnosed and unexplained, from birth until I was thirty-five. I grew up in rural Kentucky. No one told me; I did not know I had epilepsy until I was fifteen years old and had a grand mal seizure in high school, and even then, it took decades more before I fully understood everything that had happened to me and why.
I’m reaching out because your own openness about living with epilepsy has meant a great deal to me while writing this book. Knowing that someone could carry the same condition and still build a lasting body of work, still keep showing up to make music decade after decade, has been a real source of comfort.
In the closing pages of my book, I’ve written a short passage inspired by the image at the heart of “Harvest Moon,” two people who have been together long enough to choose each other again, deliberately, under a particular kind of light. I have not quoted any of your lyrics and would never do so without permission. I simply wanted the image itself, and I wanted you to know it’s there, and why.
Thank you for the music, and for being open about something that isn’t always easy to be open about. It has mattered more than you probably know.
And, thank you for your political beliefs. I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and deeply share what you are standing up for.

LET ‘S ROLL….FOREVER
Dear Neil,
In the aftermath of 9/11, after hearing “Let’s Roll” for the first time, I applied and was hired as a Federal Air Marshal. Twenty-six years later, the best part of my retirement (in 2017) has been having the freedom to travel to even more shows—too many to list here.
The reason of this letter is to thank you. Between Queens, NY, Jones Beach, NY, and Charlotte, NC, from the past two tours, I shared your music and concert experience with my 85-year-old father as well as my 15-year-old son and all of them in between.
For me, it all started at the RPI Field House outside Albany, NY, in 1991—Keep On Rockin’ In The Free World!!!!!
Thank you and we’d love to see you down in South Florida again—it’s been a minute.
