Dear Neil And NYA Team
Thank you for visiting Europe again in 2026. And a big THANK YOU for the NYA presale. I bought the golden circle ticket for Locarno with around 20% discount; CHF 189.- instead of CHF 219.70 -. Still not a cheap ticket, but taking the 40 francs to pay for the next two years subscription of your Archives—a nice bargain for both sides.
Speaking of the Locarno concert: The “Special Guest” spot is still open and I think John Mellencamp visits Europe much too rarely …
See you next summer in Ticino

Dearest reader,
I have no idea if this is the right place to send this message to, so I’m sorry if I’m at the wrong place taking your precious time.
Today I bought tickets for the show in the Netherlands and I am so incredibly excited to see the great Neil Young live for the first time in my life.
Alongside my happiness there’s a little bit of a bitter feeling. The tickets were over 140 euros! I know everything in life is getting more and more expensive, but this makes music totally not accessible for a lot of people. If my friend wasn’t ill and wanted to see Mr. Young for the last time in his life I would never have paid this amount.
Is this the choice of the musicians themselves or is Ticketmaster’s selling price this intensely high?
Kind regards,
Famke Rauch

This is not my choice, but I hope you enjoy the music. This like this make it easier for me to stop.
Thanks
See you there!

Dear Neil,
I am a 49 year old from Serbia who began listening to your music at 13 years of age, after hearing ’Rockin’ in the Free World’ (I guess this is a cliche, but it’s true), and had all your albums at the tender age of 16 (it was very difficult to find ’On the Beach’; I remember that vividly). It’s not hard to understand how that story evolved … My son Dušan is 12 years old, and has exactly the same ’problem’—he became your biggest fan after seeing the ’Rockin’ in the Free World’ video a couple of years ago and claims that you will always be his absolute favorite artist, no matter what. That’s how genetics works, obviously.
Anyway, I have a question for you. Would you consider organizing a concert in my hometown, Belgrade, in 2026? I saw that you are planning to play in northern and western Europe, which is a bit too far from my reach. Believe it or not, I am not the only one here who likes your music (although I am a bit extreme). I guess that a lot of people from central, eastern and southern Europe would love to have the chance to hear you and the Chrome Hearts. Belgrade has a fantastic geographical position (Serbia shares the border with eight countries) and a large outdoor venue (Ušće Park) where The Rolling Stones held the concert in 2007 with the attendance of over 50,000 people. I hope you won’t be mad at me if I suggest the setlist (maybe it will even make you smile): Cowgirl – Words – Danger Bird – Cortez – Hurricane – Thrasher – Hey Hey My My – Like an Inca – Hippie Dream – Touch the Night – Inca Queen – When Your Lonely Heart Breaks – Twilight – Crime in the City – Hangin’ on a Limb – Eldorado – The Ways of Love – Someday – Wrecking Ball – No More – Rockin’ in the Free World; Encore: Love and Only Love – Natural Beauty – Big Time. It would really be great to have the opportunity to come to the concert with my son (we would both proudly wear our ‘Freedom’ t-shirts, that’s a promise).
I wish you and your family all the best, and I certainly look forward to seeing you in person soon (if possible, naturally)!
Kind regards
Zoran

Hi Neil,
After I listened to ‘Dark Mirage’ in June, I had to cancel my subscription and leave. I could no longer enjoy the music of a father that could slam his child. My heart ached for Amber when I read the statement in the T/C that the words to ‘When I hold you in my arms’ had finally come true. Then to sing about how your current wife is the best ever had to feel like a kick in the teeth to her as well. She loved her mother so much. Obviously, I don’t know the reason for the rift, but I could see where these items could play a part.
As time has gone by, I realize I have no right to judge. You have been so gracious in responses to my letters in the past and my music requests.
I wish I knew the magic words to heal the hurt between you and Amber. I think it takes a very strong person to both forgive and to put themselves at risk to be hurt again. I once read that hurting someone is like driving nails in a piece of wood. You can say ‘sorry’ and pull the nails out, but the holes remain.
I grew up in a home where my father and brother were estranged. It broke my heart as I loved them both dearly. They never reconciled.
I was in my fifties before I realized the power of prayer and to be accepting when the answer was not what I hoped for. I pray for love and forgiveness for both of you and to enjoy a loving relationship again.
I rejoined the Archives today because I wanted to send you this letter. Hopefully one day I will enjoy the music again.
With love and hope for both of you.

Dear Neil—You REALLY need to reconsider your use of the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange policy for your tickets!! In a case where the show does NOT sell out, your fans really get screwed by Ticketmaster. Simply put, if the show does not sell out right away, Ticketmaster will lower the prices of the the tickets they sell while at the same time forcing people who already purchased tickets to the show to only sell the ticket at the original purchase price. This in effect makes it IMPOSSIBLE to sell their tickets since Ticketmaster will have tickets in the same section listed at a lower price. While this policy has a good intention, it in fact hurts the fans when the show does not sell out. The policy needs to be amended so the fan can sell their tickets at or BELOW the original price so they can stay competitive with the Ticketmaster price. This is just another example of Ticketmaster using a policy to their own benefit and screwing the customer! Please keep this in mind.
Thanx
Randy
Ticketmaster will be one of the reasons I stop performing. But I am not done yet.
Thanks Randy

Dear Neil Young, my name is Brooklyn, I’m 17 years old and my boyfriend Johnny Hamm (Hammtone) and I are huge fans of yours, so much so that he has learned quite a few of your songs and performed them at our school (and your previous one) Kelvin High. He released an album called “Just Wonder,” which you can find on most streaming platforms! I’m extremely proud of him and it would be incredible if you could take the time to give his music a listen and maybe give some feedback. Thank you kindly 🙂
Check it out!

How about a Zoom meeting? It’s been a while since the last time..
And welcome to Europe next summer! If you have any time, you and The Chrome Hearts are warmly welcome to play a show in Finland. Finland isn’t on Europe tour list for the second time in a row. It’s almost 10 years your last visit in Finland.
All the best!
Marko from Finland

Dear Neil
I can’t wait to see you again in 2026 I saw you for the first time in Hyde Park 2025. I was with my Dad who saw you in 1996 in Copps Coliseum Hamilton Ontario when he was 18, and with my brother who helped me learn guitar and other friends. I would like to thank you for inspiring me to learn Guitar and not to feel pressured to play like other musicians, and to channel myself and how I feel into music. Your music helped me through the hardest time in my life when my mother walked out on me and my family, it gave me hope and spoke to me taking my mind off the horrible situation I was in. Again I just want to thank you for being a huge part of my life and personality.
Much love and many prayers.

Thanks Luke

hey Neil hope this finds you all well. Just wanted to say thanks for coming to Wales next year, so excited when I had the e mail saying you were playing Blackweir Fields in Cardiff only fifteen miles from my house.Made a terrible mistake though, got to your website for the presale and instead of getting tickets for the Garden we got general admission. When we realised what we’d done I was stunned into silence and my wife was inconsolable for the best part of two hours. But there we go, shit happens. Anyway thanks again for coming to Wales Neil, you’ll have a warm welcome in The Land Of Song. So take care Shakey and we’ll see you next July. By the way Sugar Loaf Mountain is just up the road!!! All the best … Dodgy
Thanks Dodgy

Ken Burns Fan?
Neil,
First off, thanks for the countless road trip soundtracks and all the great memories listening to your albums.
I am currently watching Ken Burns’ latest masterpiece, American Revolution. I sense there would be lots of synergy between you two, being two great storytellers.
Are you a fan of the doc or any of his prior work?
Thanks,
Chris D
Thanks Chris
We will check it out

Shakey & Team,
Excited to see you’re still getting out for more shows! If any more US dates come up, I’ll be there.
I was curious if there are any updates on a few new vinyl releases you’ve teased in the past:
Greendale Acoustic & the 2025 Tour live album.
The Cortez from As Time Explodes 3.0 is nuts. I saw in another letter you said that audio is from the Bergen show and it’s on the forthcoming live album—it made me extremely excited for that release. So, I thought I’d inquire about any updated release info. Thanks!

Hi Neil—
Been a while. Hope all is well. Since Vol 4 is in progress, I wanted to ask you about the Restless tour from 1989. Marshall Stacks. Industrial Sound effects. You put a concert on the timeline from this tour. The Marshalls were barely audible. There is a story there. Were the Marshalls not in the house mix? Too loud for any microphone to handle? How exactly was the house sound done and is there any chance of hearing anything faithful of that tour on Vol. 4 or otherwise? Hot little tour. Any memories of it?
