According to the interview in Ultimate Classic Rock, audio engineer Brett Eliason has mentioned that the (invite-only) Mirror Ball release party live show at Moe in Seattle on June 7, 1995 was professionally recorded: “”We did record a live show at Moe’s up on Capitol Hill in Seattle. That was the first time they’d played this record together. Those tapes are somewhere. That would be fun, because it was a good show.” Does NYA has these tapes and will there be released for example as a timeline concert?

Hi all!
I’m trying to find the video of Neil playing This Old House with only Poncho (Ben Keith may have been there). Poncho playing mandolin. I’m thinking it was Jones Beach maybe in the 8os, early 90s but I could be wrong. It moved me to tears but I can’t seem to find it. I was thinking you guys put it out on something but I could be wrong. Can you help? It was one of my fav videos!

Hello Neil … this is Carole Mayedo violinist. I played with you on “American Stars and Bars.”
HAPPY BIRTHDAY I hope you are doing well, enjoying your life and music. I am living in a small beach town in Northern Florida called Atlantic Beach where I play a lot of music; as you said to me many years ago, “Once a rocker, always a rocker, Carole.” I recently wrote a “protest/unity” song that I performed live and recorded á la Neil at a small listening room called Mudville here in Jacksonville about 2 weeks ago. I was very inspired and filled with despair and hope for what’s going on in the world when I wrote it. I feel it’s important and want to share it with the world. I turned it into a video, I put it on Instagram, FB and YouTube two days ago (something I never do, but felt compelled to do). I’ve gotten over 1,000 views so far. I’m hoping you (NYA) can help me get it out there. It’s called “Better World/It’s All About Us.” I will try to paste it here but if I’m unsuccessful it’s on YouTube channel Carole Mayedo Band.

Dear Neil,
I’m background singer in the Neil Young Tribute Band “Goldrausch” from Germany. We have a lot of joy together playing your songs. Last week our bandleader, Stefan, who plays your songs for more than 20 years and convinced me to join the band one year ago, had a car accident on the way home from our rehearsal. He had several bones broken and pains and almost can’t move for weeks or longer. Don’t know when we can start playing again. So I write you in the hope that you could send him a “Hi” or “recovery-greeting” here, I could pass to him as a surprise:-)

Hi Neil,
This last Saturday, my friends and I held a benefit show in honor of your 80th birthday. Thirteen local musicians from around the Portland, Oregon area got together to play our favorite songs of yours in celebration and to raise money for charity. We played a three-hour show featuring over 30 songs spanning your career so far. We had full bands, electric sets, acoustic sets, and full-on jams. A local, independently owned brewery hosted us for the evening in their warehouse brew space big enough for all of us to play together and for dozens of community members to attend. We raised over $500 for a local community non-profit, the Camas-Washougal Community Chest. The charity representatives in attendance collected the donations and discussed how funds would be used to support community members experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.
The highlight of the evening was all 13 musicians closing the night with Rockin’ in the Free World into Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black), with everyone in attendance singing along with us.
We all hope you had an amazing 80th, and thank you for continuing to inspire people to speak up, speak out, and keep it homegrown.

Thank you for posting this short film. A tough watch with so much devastating imagery that brings too many conflicts and repugnant generational genocides into the sharpest of focus. It’s uncomfortable viewing, but necessary viewing too. Each of the three short “as time explodes” films are important snapshots of where we’re heading in 2025 but 3.0 is the one, it really is …
The segment of the Cortez instrumental to accompany 3.0 couldn’t be more perfect. The song’s own brutal narrative of maybe one of the most explored songs in all your big books, but those Bergen sonics are spellbinding.
I don’t want to be “that guy” who keeps on requesting and requesting the same thing over & over, but this is a request I’ve already made—please give that extraordinary Cortez from that cold, wet Norwegian summer show a place on the live tour album that’s to come sometime soon.
And if not a slot on the record, could we have a special one-off slot on NYA (like the Oakland acoustic Cortez has)? They bookend each other so beautifully in their shared intensity and exceptional delivery.
To release one of the greatest live versions of Cortez (perhaps the best Cortez there is …) via record or NYA would be so appreciated.

Cortez from Bergen is on the Live album and I think it is the best ever. The lyrics start and stop at different times, giving the song a new story. Truly a gift of the Muse.
