I’m with you Neil on Amazon, but I think the greater good is to donate their monies to the earth. I would hope other artists would jump in. When Bezos drops “Democracy Dies in Darkness” from the top of the Washington Post I’m out.
Yeh. I can’t ask people to go there to get my stuff.

Aloha from The Big Island, Neil. Thanks for touring and playing for the people in 2025. I wonder if you’ve ever thought about starting your shows with Tonight’s The Night? That song explains everything that comes after. Just a thought. Love you. Bob.

Bob,
I have done that a couple times.

Thank you Neil! I was fortunate enough to take my daughter to see you at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View California recently. You are amazing!
The energy and quality of your performance was amazing! As we say in Santa Cruz, totally awesome dude.
I don’t go to as many shows as I used to, but some artists aren’t there for performing …
I thoroughly enjoyed your performance and was so glad I could share this with my daughter!
Long may you run!
Thanks again!

Hey Neil
Not that we really need one, but was just curious if you would ever be open to a biopic if someone approached you with an interesting concept.
Thanks man! Peace and love

Hi Neil, do you remember recording in Michigan in 1968?
. . .
I always thought by friend looked like Neil Young. My friend was born on October 14, 1966. He was adopted and born in downtown Detroit.
I recently stumbled on this and my heart stopped:
“I’ve Got You In My Soul—a tune from the near-mythic Mynah Birds sessions recorded at Motown Records studios on West Grand Boulevard in Detroit, Michigan on January 19th and 21st, 1966, under the supervision of Mickey Stevenson and Jeffrey Bowen. The song features 17-year-old Rick ‘Super Freak’ James on vocals and Neil Young on guitar, along with future Buffalo Springfield bass player Bruce Palmer, guitarist Little Johnny Taylor and Rickman Mason on drums.”

Hi Neil,
Just received my ORS #6 vinyl box set. Thrilled to discover that you have extended Peace & Love on Mirror Ball to 8:48 from the 7:02 length on all other releases, including the new ORS #6 CD box. A really cool new end to the song. Intrigued who is playing that spooky piano melody in the last 5 seconds?

Hey Neil,
Terry Erickson sent me an old picture of U2.
You may have it,or seen it before?
Happy to share it with you anytime.
Terry attended one of our shows recently in Medicine Hat.
He is still smiling about the Honda 90 excursions..
I’m from Winnipeg and friends with John Einarson, too.

I had a dream that I was singing with Neil Young on a small and inflatable stage. He went, “you cant dance around on it, but if you look out onto the horizon, you’ll be fine.” And when the microphone shorted and I said that my voice might have too much bass, he replied, “bass? Are you kidding me? You sound great.” I wonder if he had the same dream and woke up thinking, “who the fuck was that guy?”

Hey Neil,
Loved the Harvest Moon Gathering again this year. I’ve attended all three of these so far and love the vibe, the music, and of course the good causes that it supports. Is the plan to have this continue on an annual basis?
All of the artists were phenomenal. I really enjoyed your set. Glad you played Big Crime! Something we need to continue to hear until we can get big change in the White House, Congress, and SCOTUS.
Keep on rockin’

Curious about any info on the Sleeps with Angels DJ Mix. I love the album and the exploration of sounds you took with it.
I recall seeing this “Remastered Radio DJ” mix of it when I originally got this album when it was released (back in ’94) but don’t see it mentioned anywhere and I don’t think it is on NYA.
Does it sound different? Why was this mix done? Will it get posted on NYA as an alternate mix? I picked one up off ebay to see if it sounds any different…will let you know 🙂
According to Discogs:
This promo has a unique mastering intended for radio airplay.

Hi Neil,
I am delighted to have received the latest box set in the Original Release Series. “Harvest Moon,” “Unplugged,” “Sleeps With Angels” and “Mirror Ball” are very very special albums for me. They span the years I was at university in the old English city of York and the songs always bring to mind the fun and joyous times with friends as well as the more reflective times I spent on my own. I still have the original CDs and even though I have the fab new box I plan to keep the originals.
All the best

Hi, Neil
Your longtime fan from Brazil here. Are you planning to release the soundtrack to the film Silver and Gold (DVD, 2000)? It’s been a lifesaver for me. I’d love to hear it outside of the film as well.
Stay strong and healthy,

Neil, I hope all is well and the muse is with you in some shape or form, hopefully in the archival aspect for those waiting for more from there. I just wanted to follow up and ask if there was any update or forward progress on a session log from the Archives Volume 3 period as was in the previous volumes? You had said following the release of Volume 3 that you would possibly do this and it had been suggested it could be either a book or a downloadable document for those interested, but it has been a while since it has been mentioned. I hope we can see a session log for Volume 3 and hopefully Volume 4 will have one in it as well. Also, any more outtakes coming any time soon? Keep on rockin’ and may the muse continue for you in any fashion.

Hi Neil~
Ranting and consciously concerned!!! Families who depend on government assistance for FOOD are getting cut off while the POTUS spends trillions on….
That’s just wrong. I suppose the best action is to vote Democratic and help those in need?
Actions such as these will not make America great again. Unless there is miracle….
Much love,

Hi Neil,
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the latest ORS box set. These albums are all so good. I really enjoy the subtle differences on Mirror Ball. Speaking of difference, the Peace and Love extended feedback at the end is simply awesome. Do you recall why we can hear the Cradle Song at the end?
Cheers from Montréal,

Reason Mirror Ball “Peace & Love” has a different/extended mix on the ORS 6 remaster is because it’s unique to the analog original — “analog’s got bonuses to it”

Greetings Neil,
Back in 1995 when MIRROR BALL was released, my local Virgin record store had a promotion.
A free black Neil Young and members of Pearl Jam t-shirt with every album purchased.
I bought seven albums.
I gave five albums to friends and still have one new t-shirt left 30 years later.
I also bought the sheet music with tab and learnt to play the album. Never managed to replicate your sound, but I had a lot of fun trying.
MIRROR BALL is an album I play every week either at home or out running or walking.
It’s a superb album and I wanted to thank you for giving the album the priority it deserves both with the new release and playing it live.
Best wishes as always

Hi Neil,
Watching (and listening to) various live recordings in the Archives, it’s great to see how Old Black has aged along with you. Thank you for that partnership — it’s a wonderful combination. Of course, he gets his regular maintenance, but the years do show. You two truly belong together. Still, out of curiosity, I wonder why Old Black has always been so important to you that
he’s never been replaced by a “New Black.”
Love,
Rob Zuidinga, The Netherlands.
there is only one old black, Rob!
