Thank you Neil and everyone at NYA and for all you do. And for helping our Country too.
Im here now in Texas Hill Country Lakeway Spicewood Dripping Springs Driftwood Wimberly area doing all I can to help bring caring people families musicians and artists together to help communities. Im trying to teach new young people musicians here in the hill country here too how we can all make a difference and bring people together like my friend Tom did. Like i did up north when i traveled town to town with my blind friend that played sax, as she would hold my arm as I led her town to town where we played to help shelters and food banks and orgs helping people.
Im trying to find musicians and people to help me sing parts of my new song in Spanish and other languages to show we’re all here together in kindness.
I also create special lamps to bring joy to people and families and for local businesses in the hill country to bring them and their customers joy too. I build them at my home.
My personal site I try to help my Country, i only give out to certain caring people. I keep the site up for my caring mom whose is 90 now and my dad who took the oath to the Constitution, he’s no longer here.
Thank you Neil thank you and everyone
all that you do all you have taught us
to love and to care for others,
It is the love in all of our hearts,
why we’re all here,
and to help others to feel too,
with all that we know to be true,
to love and to care for others,
i wake up with a tear in my eye some days
thinking what’s happening,
but staying focused to help others and staying strong to be able to keep helping,
I’ll never forget the words of my father that he told me
right before he passed in 2018, I carry his words with me every day,
somehow someday i’ll keep sharing all his words he shared with me,
and also too the words my 90 yr old mom still shares with me,
Wishing you and everyone
a good year love and strength
Love and Peace to all,
Jeff

Hi Neil,
Just wanted to share with you that your song “Don’t Forget Love” is my rescue parrot’s favourite piece in the piano (that I can play). She comes over and stands on the keyboard and listens in rapture whenever I play it. She gets this soft look in her eye and goes all dreamy.
P.s. Please tour Australia!
Hope to get to Australia soon.
LOVE thanks

Hi Neil,
First of all, Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope you had a good start. I wrote a letter to you before Christmas which wasn’t answered, so I want to try it again now and I’m keeping my fingers crossed it will find the way to you.
While I was sitting on my couch and listening to your albums Greendale and Toast, some questions about your touring routines came into my mind and I’m thrilled to get some information about that from you.
So I was wondering how your tour rehearsals are set up? How long in advance do you rehearse with the Chrome Hearts before a tour? And where do the rehearsals take place?
And another thought was about your shaping of the setlist for a concert. How do you do that? What are your influences? When do you decide which songs you will play at a concert?
I’m really looking forward to hear from you on that. Thanks in advance for taking the time and especially for your soulful music which is a healer to me.
All the best and see you on tour in summer,
Alex

we rehearse in an old theater for 2 or three days. Setlist evolves in real time.

Hey Everybody,
It’s beginning to look a lot like Kent State all over again.
Neil, if you feel like I do now, maybe if you don’t, please, write a song, this has gone on too long.
I’m writing tonight.
Peace, Love and Music

Hi Neil,
Its that time again when I feel I need to connect with you again.
I’ve now got a lot of your vinyl records and I’ve been buying some new ones recently and I must say i’m very happy with the quality. When I pulled the most recent one out of its sleeve, Tonights The Night 50th anniversary the weight and sturdiness of the vinyl stood out plus the contents inside were a good read.
I bought a new record player with speakers hard wired to the turntable. I believe that this is the best quality sound that anyone can have when listening to yours or any music. What do you think?
I hope you and Daryl are well and you are getting out walking and doing your stretches and eating well.
Please don’t forget the ‘Land Down Under’; we would love to see you again.
Love
Darren Russell
P.S. I still have one of your shoes 🙂
Thanks Darren
your record player sounds like mine
all one piece. AMAZING SOUND!!
Hope to see you down under someday!

Hi Neil,
Incredibly frustrated here in Australia at the actions of Trump—now just invading countries willy-nilly. Terrifying.
What can one do? For me, I can write songs. Here it is, regards, Dan
‘THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES’ by Dan Warner
You took in our tired,
Our lost and unrequired
All of us lashed and battered by the Fates
As we sailed into the harbour
The lady watched over
And we cried ‘cause, at last, we were safe
Now there’s no pity
For the homeless with no city
And the victims of the wars we create
I never thought I’d see the day they’d all get turned away
By the President of The United States
There’s no need to dread
Reds under the bed
If the Russians are coming, they’re late
And there’s no need to hide
‘Cause though they might have tried
The slaves never managed to escape
There’s no need to fear
Hannibal aint here
That ain’t his fists pounding at the gates
Just check all the locks ‘cause the one who knocks
Could be the President of the United States
Doesn’t know how to cook
Never read a book
Watches TV to keep up to date
All he knows about money
Is that he got it all from daddy
A fortune that he can’t quite calculate
As Barnum would say
One is born everyday
But fools should never preside or dictate
It’s the bitterest pill
That the biggest fool on the hill
Is the President of the United States
They say that Rasputin,
Pol Pot and Putin
Had only love for themselves, not their race
And maybe Hitler, Il Duce
Franco and Pinochet
Are the only true masters of hate
Some say that the Devil
Is the true face of evil
But even Lucifer fell out of grace
He may have won at the polls
But the one without a soul
Is the President of the United States
Don’t need Pinocchio’s nose
Or your cheeks to turn rose
It’s not the news, it is you that is fake
Like Judas’s kiss
Or Lance Armstrong’s piss
You poisoned us all like a snake
You lied about our Union
You lied to confuse us
When you lied about what makes us great
We’re sad and appalled
The greatest liar of all
Is the President of the United States
Dan

Hi Neil,
I have been listening to a lot of Archives Volume 3 lately and I was glad to hear more versions of ‘It Might Have Been,’ one of your songs I have always loved for its straightforward message. Then last year I was watching the TCM channel (Turner Classic Movies) and saw ‘The Lavender Hill Mob,’ a 1951 eccentric British comedy heist film starring Alec Guinness and Stanley Holloway. In one scene Stanley’s character says:
Of all sad words of tongue and pen,
the saddest of them are “It Might Have Been”
I further found out those words were part of a poem written by John Greenleaf Whittier in 1856 called Maud Muller. This lengthy poem describes the encounter between a lovely peasant maid and a traveling judge. They are smitten with each other but nothing develops between them. Years later the judge looks back on their meeting with regret.
How is work on Archives Volume 4 coming along?
Gareth
I have loved that song since the first time I heard it Gareth

The latest Timeline Concert—Neil Young with The Lost Dogs recorded April 18, 1989 in Sydney, Australia—sounds fantastic.
During the band introductions, Rick Rosas stated:
“We’re making an album tonight. So, I’m glad you’re here. Thank you, very much.”
Was this concert originally intended to be a live album or part of a live album? Is that why the quality is so good?
Regardless, it was worth waiting over 36 years to hear.
Thanks,
Harris

Glad you Like it

Hello Neil.
One more hallucination, audio this time. I bought talkin’ to the trees clear vinyl but listened to the download first. I dug dark mirage because of the groovy low chorus at the end that said, I thought, Ja ja ja jaaa ja ra. (reference to irae dude and Egyptian fellow) but learned otherwise upon playin vinyl and reading lyrics. but what I hallucinated did ring in my ears and consciousness for days til I worried I was going to be influenced by the piety. No such luck. Thanks for the groovy songs and all the fish.
Plain Old Bob
LOVE to you plain old Bob
Thanks for listening to that unhappy real song.
LIFE can be a difficult. Things are getting better now…..
