Dear Neil
I can’t pop down to San Diego to see you until that country is no longer under a fascist regime, so will you please always book a venue in Vancouver (or Victoria) so that i can be there? Deer Lake was perfect last summer.
Love and only love,
Whissy
Hey Whissy,
So sorry about that. If corruption does not overtake us completely, we will have control of the House of Representatives and maybe even the Senate by voting late this year.
What has happened while Americans watched the media instead of America is truly a sad thing for our children and theirs.

Hi there,
I will be attending the Glasgow concert this year in the UK. Like most on here getting access to the tickets early, I would assume many have purchased the VIP tickets which are set at a great price.
Would you have any additional information if the Glasgow or any other dates will have the golden circle availability? I’ve seen from past concerts that the Glasgow venue has had this option, but can’t find any information from Ticketmaster or the Glasgow summer sessions page. Any information would be greatly appreciated as wouldn’t like to miss the chance to purchase this option.
Thanks, all the best Chris
I have asked.
Here is management’s answer:
All shows had a 48-hour pre-sale for NYA subscribers prior to any other available tickets being sold.
This special pre-sale is unique and was available for only 48 hours. Therefore, our process is different from what the venue has done for past shows.

Dear Neil,
Thank you for speaking out and pushing for change. You’ve been an excellent teacher all these years. As an educator, I greatly appreciate the way you have utilized your platform to help people and the planet.
I don’t imagine you have time to listen to other people’s music. As a contributor to your Living With War project, I just wanted to share another song, Cowardice of Kings. It was not written about President Fuckhead, but applies. The song has been getting some spins on campuses in Canada. This is not a money making thing for me. I make music because i have to . Anyway, if you or your folks have time/interest: The Cowardice of Kings
Be well, good sir.

Peace to us all.

Greetings Neil,
As I sit here watching the snow come down in New Jersey, I can’t help but think how much work we as a nation have to do this year.
No doubt this year took about 30 seconds to turn to absolute shit, but I know better forces are at work and we will overcome.
I encourage everyone to avoid despair, get inspired and cast your votes during this critical year.
We can change this, and we will!
Thanks for listening! Keep on rocking!

Thank you for “Deep Forbidden Lake.” The last note that Ben hits at the end is one of my favorite moments in music.

Hi Neil,
Are you and other like minded artists contemplating a national tour in lead up to the mid term elections?
*I am, but i’m trying to balance that with the European dates already booked because I want to have good energy for this tour.
If not why not?
The US people need to rise up peacefully in this lead up has the cat got their tongues?
I don’t know where they are. Hopefully not watching the Media.
Where are the democrats missing in inaction.
Watching the Media
I think they should abandon primaries appoint a presidential candidate asap so to rebut every day the crap Trump churns out.
I would like to see a leader asap.
God help America!!
New stuff underway solo, chrome hearts, Crazy Horse??
YES
And last not least tour downunder Please.
If not Windy why not?
Fossil Fuel usage///only jets available/// I’Il continue to look.
I still hold the secret belief that in your vaults there is a LP worth of CH jam sessions could that happen NO words just music like driftin back.
*There are lots of jams…..
You’re a good man Neil Young.

Hi Neil,
There are two statements you have recently made which I do not agree with.
1. There was no ICE before Trump—ICE was created in 2003 due to the 9/11 attacks. Over 3 million illegals were deported under the Obama administration and over half a million under Biden. Since there were no protests during those times, it appears there is a double standard happening. Before ICE, the Department of Justice was responsible for deporting illegals. I remember reading about Bruce Palmer being deported several times back to Canada in the 60s.I am not defending Trump. He has brought all the protests on himself by his actions. I just have no respect for double standards regardless of who is involved.
2. She was shot for no reason—-I agree people should stand up for what they believe in, but as you have often said –PEACEFULLY. By positioning their vehicle in a way that was an impediment to traffic, they were wanting a confrontation. With the wife emphatically saying ‘Drive, baby, drive” and the sudden forward movement of the vehicle, I can understand the officer perceiving his life to be in danger. Therefore, he had the right to shoot, IF they had not instigated the confrontation, and IF she had stepped out of the car as the office ordered, she would be alive today.
Love you Neil, just don’t agree with you sometimes
Mary Jane
Hey there Mary Jane
1.-You are right. There was ICE before Trump. However, no one knew. They were not like these creepy face-covered animals.
2.- MARY JANE. You are so wrong on every count. She was turning away from the ICE man. She had no gun. Watch the video. Hands on the wheel, heading away, SHOT IN THE FACE by ICE CREEP. Seems like you only watch FOX news…..might try another source…..

Hi Neil—
I just read an interview with Poncho from 2014. He talked about Oakland rehearsals for the Crazy Tour just before Billy had the stroke. He mentioned that you recorded the best version of “Whose Gonna Stand Up” during that rehearsal in Oakland and that he has a tape of it. I figure you’re all over this stuff for Vol. 4. Hope you are doing well.

Some highlight items for me in the paper recently: text of Prime Minister Carney’s force of a speech in Davos, a message for men by Brian Recker and the commemoration of Mariposa Folk Festival founder Ruth Jones McVeigh. These among the depth and importance contained in The Times-Contrarian. Bravo!
Hey, I’m a new Grandad and was able to write and record a couple of songs around the Wolf Moon birth. I must thank you for your part in that capacity—inspiring in art, songwriting, music style and speaking one’s heart. Merci!

Hi again to Neil and to all at NYA.
Just wanted to say thanks so much for passing on my song, ‘The President of The United States’ to Neil.
It was just brilliant to see the song on the letters page and also to see a response from Neil.
Really brilliant. Thanks so much again.
In Neil’s response, he asked me to send through a version with me singing. I should have said that it’s me singing with my band on the YouTube version I sent through. Anyways, I’ve put a .wav file of the song for Neil in a dropbox folder with the lyrics.
I wrote the song during a Covid lockdown in Melbourne, Australia (we had some of the longest lockdowns in the world)—so here’s the rather angry and frustrated demo I sang when locked in my apartment.
Thanks again to Neil and to all of you. Thanks especially for sharing the song.
Great stuff!

Hello there,
I think I saw somewhere that the team is now working on a release of select performances of Neil’s 1999 solo acoustic tour. If I’m not mistaken about that, hopefully I can give the team a potential lead this way. (I would like to have a member subscription which is probably the proper channel for such requests, but as a barista in my 20s whose hours just got cut, now isn’t the time, but I don’t want to miss my chance to suggest something!)
There’s a wonderful performance on YouTube of “On the Beach” at Rosemont Theater in Rosemont, IL on May 1st, 1999. It takes a little while to really get off the ground, but once it does, it’s (in my opinion) a remarkably soulful rendition of one of Neil’s greatest songs and yet so rarely performed live. I’ve never heard a live version I like more, and I have listened to a few of them. I believe this one represents Neil in that time of his life as a very fine musician with just his voice and an acoustic guitar, just as much as he can be a hard rocking one too.
So here I am, writing in hopes that there’s a high-quality version of “On the Beach” from 05/01/1999 in the Archives, and if there is, to please consider its inclusion on the upcoming live performance series release. And maybe there are some others from around that time I don’t know about that are worth rifling through too.
As a bonus: also on YouTube is a great, almost hypnotic, perfectly weary “Albuquerque” from what I believe is the same tour, but unfortunately the uploader provided no other information about it. The video can be found here on YouTube. That could be another good place for the team to investigate for this particular live performance release, and/or other Albuquerque’s from that tour. That one is just my favorite out of the ones I’ve heard.
With my sincerest respect and gratitude,
“Anonymous”
Thanks “Anonymous”
We are checking on it

Dear Neil,
Every day I wake up with a broken heart and find I don’t even want to leave my home because of what is going on in this country. I come to NYA to listen to your music and read NYA Times – Contrarian to lift my spirits and heart. Thank you for this beautiful space ❤️
In peace and love,
Nancy
P.S. I finally got to see you live at Fiddler’s Green on 9/1/25. One of the best nights of my life. It was truly magical!ere!

Hi Neil
I just got around to listening to the 1989 Sydney show with the Lost Dogs. It’s a stunning performance with really impressive sound quality. I wasn’t at the show but I was at the Brisbane show of the same tour, and this helps to remind me of just why I remember that show so fondly. Thanks for sharing it and we would love to see you back in Australia. It’s really been a long time.
Cheers.
