Farm Aid 40 was the most important one for many years. My papaw farmed the land in southern Indiana during the Great Depression and I still have family still doing it. Myself, I became a hippie like Sun Green and tried to save Mother Earth and stop the war. Hollywood called to me and I married a musician from that time in the late sixties where there was magic on Sunset strip. Times have changed Neil … Great respect for your thoughts on a conscious tax, however they don’t have one, nor empathy … Just keep doing what you do and we will keep listening.

JONES BEACH
Dear Neil,
It was a bit of a struggle but I did make it to your August 23, 2025 concert at the Hopewell Jones Beach Theater, in Wantagh, New York. It was and always is such a memorable experience. My heart broke when I learned the pit was closed due to an abnormal storm-related high tide that was coming in. Just so you know, it definitely felt different and strange to all of us in the audience too.
It’s been such a long hard road and I really needed “someone to love me the whole day through.” Thank you for truly caring. There is not enough love in this world and your kind gesture brought me to tears. It will never be forgotten.

MOUNTAIN VIEW
Seems a good a time to mention it as any. Went to the Mtn View show, which was as good as any Neil show ever and more than a few are in the books. Was with friend from Germany, Chris Vogel and his wife Margit, Danand Ken Fischl, a guitar buddy, and my lovely wife Lorella. All agreed it was extraordinary and as relevant as live music can and should be. As a good friend Denny pointed out about Neil, Dylan, and Willie at Farm Aid, it was no holds barred. He/they poked Father Time in the eye. Straight up middle finger🖕 to those ‘tin soldiers (ICE) and Nixon (like dat orange two-faced lyin’ thin skinned soggy 🌮) comin” cuz we finally R on our own…drummin’…four dead…Ohio. Only barely able to defend First Amendment rights and just basic civil rights. 1984 level 💩. And songs for and about love and saving the planet Earth. Not preachy but preaching and praying folks get a fair shake; no more trickle down Reagan era bull crapola come full circle to I got mine, f@$* you level greed. Sorry not sorry for the political digression, but Neil unapologetically goes there, so there you go. And I usually keep it to myself or speak to like-minded friends in the People’s Republic of Davis (my own chosen bubble world for near 40 years) and stay off FB cuz I know it’s all monitored and flagged, and it’s basically pissin’ in the wind. But it’s so bad now that if I were a DACA dreamer father trying to get home to his wife and kids, posting something like this honest opinion post alone could or would put me straight up on the detention bus to nowhere. Lived in Spain long enough to come to understand what a country that suffered from fascist power looked like, and the reasons why dictators or just power-hungry thugs grab and hold on. Sad thing is ‘Merica voted for this. Probably would piss off a few people if I posted on FB, so here I am writing to the source. Hard to get thru to friends or acquaintances, who love or bow to his orange highness for reasons they can justify by living like we all do, in a closed siio of news we choose, or have the algorithm choose for us. Anyhow, I digress. Good old Uncle Neil’s music and songs ring true, more relevant and resonant than ever. Cool it’s going to be made available in the archives site and also releasing a record. Looking forward to everyone or anyone who digs it, to share it. Next best thing to being there. One of the best things being there was sharing moments like this. Flashbacks to better simpler days when Tony Bennett and Paul McCartney did that one love fest of a The Bridge School show, and we were there. We are here. 💕 (writing at 3am so forgive typos!)

Hi Neil~
I love the idea of ACT, American Conscious Tax, I hope to be able to contribute, someday. I highly doubt that the current administration would adopt a policy as such. However, we the people can.
If you and others are conversing virtually about this topic, I would like to be invited. I did send you a previous message on the topic.
FarmAid privately helped many farmers with money, education and support. Privately, ACT could attract both givers and receivers….
Anyone who wants to give can. Receivers of this monetary gift must agree to education in financial literacy and Mindfulness. Start out with a Farmer from each state and gift them something or sum, that would radically improve their ability to give to others.
Givers providing a donation to this non-profit and ‘can’ write it off on their taxes.
Just some thoughts as I love the idea of balancing the scales. It would be my honor to part of a discussion team.

Completely voluntary. The purpose of this ‘tax’ is to give to those in need. Individuals or communities receiving the benefits of the money must complete an application for need determination. In addition, any recipient must agree to follow up education.
Those agreeing to participate in giving to this ‘tax’ invest their money and wisdom to their selected recipient(s). Recipients must evidence conscious usage of the money gifted upon them.
It is our goal that recipients become givers and we balance the scales.

I had the pleasure of attending two shows in April 2011 on the Twisted Road solo tour (thanks for posting the Atlanta show from that tour) in Baltimore and was also heading to Philadelphia for the next show. As I was exiting the theater in Baltimore, I saw Elliot outside. I said “Elliot, see you in Philly!” He gave me this huge grin, slapped my back and said “See you in Philly!” with such genuine joy. That meant a lot to a longtime fan—a shared enthusiasm for your live shows. Just wanted to share!

Dawn and Dew here. We made it to the Milwaukee show, and what an experience. Thank you so much. You and the Chrome Hearts were absolutely awesome. We could see the fun you boys were having, the connection you shared, and could really feel the love in the crowd, both for you and from you. You guys looked fresh and energized and your performance was sharp and polished. From the depths of our being, we thank you and the band for giving us such a great show, and you in particular for continuing to share your gift with us after all these years.
After seeing you many times from afar, this time we were in the front row. Talk about a lifetime experience. Words cannot describe. Being huge fans for the past 40 years (we’re in our mid 50s), to see you just ten feet away, performing our favorite music with heart and soul, it may have been the best experience of our lives. Throughout the show, we soaked in the vibe and etched the most beautiful memory deep in our brains. In every sense, it was the ultimate dream come true, satisfying beyond our wildest dreams.
We waved farewell to you and the Silver Eagle, and as you headed west, we headed north, drove through the night, and arrived home to the south shore of Lake Superior as the sun was rising. The wife slept most of the way, and I rocked your music through earbuds to keep me awake. Along the way, I savored the remnant aromas of a rock concert and smiled nonstop while processing the memories of the amazing show I’d just witnessed. At the end of the day, my face hurt from smiling so much.
The next day, reality set in. We’d just lived a dream and the emotions came in waves. Seeing you up close doing your thing was like seeing God. Seeing the guy who wrote all those songs we’ve loved, all those notes and verses we’ve memorized, it really was like a religious experience.
In our lives, our faith is found in the woods and on the shores of the Great Lakes state. Our hymns are the songs the muse shared with you, that you’ve shared with us, and we continue to share with anyone within earshot as we do our best to sing along. Our good book consists of the lyrics and verses you’ve penned, while our moral compass and life direction is largely validated, synchronized, and guided by the values and messages you’ve repeatedly delivered through your lifetime of work.
As if the experience of seeing you and the Chrome Hearts up close wasn’t enough, the story gets a little better. Leading up to the Milwaukee show, we sent a letter regarding our experience at the Pine Knob show and thanking you for all you’ve given us. Within a few days of sending the letter, we got an automated reply telling us you received our letter, but you can’t respond to all of them. That was okay. We had no expectations and were happy to have simply shared our thoughts with you.
Then we checked the Times-Contrarian a few days after the show and got a great surprise. Turns out, you actually did read our letter, and to our astonishment, you personally replied. While it was only a few words, those words (Love to you, Dawn and Dew…) brought tears. Of all the people in the world, to know our God of music would take time to consider our words, think about us for a moment, then write something special just to us, we were floored. You made our day, and that feeling of deep gratitude persists.
While you don’t know us, you’re like family to us. Of all the family and friends we’ve known, your voice rings louder than all the others combined. While we’ve memorized a few stories of family and friends, we’ve memorized hundreds of your stories through your songs. In many ways, you’ve had a larger role in our development and direction than any family or friends have.
We’re not some weird drooling fanatics. One of us is a teacher, the other an artist. Of course we listen to other music too, but yours is something special. A powerful blend of ripping guitar, bouncy beat, beautiful harmony, vivid storytelling, and meaningful message, your tunes infuse our days with a powerful vibe of positive energy and hope for the future. Like many of your fans, we’re just ordinary people, with love in our hearts, and wise enough to recognize something special when we see it.
And you sir, are that something special we love to see. A force of nature and true leader in this world, you’ll be remembered as one of the greatest musicians in human history. Beyond that, what we’ll remember most is the love you so often sing about and share with your listeners. That you make time to read the letters ordinary people send, consider them for a moment, then take time to personally craft a response, proves you really do care about ordinary people. It’s not just about Neil Young and how much money he can make. It’s about love for the Earth and all its inhabitants. And that’s what makes you so special.
If anyone wants to talk about Peace Prizes or look for real leadership, they should be talking about you and looking at your example of how to be a good man and a true leader for humanity. In a time when it takes real courage to stand up for what’s right, decent, and true, you always stand tall and courageously speak for so many of us on the most important matters in life.
We deeply appreciate all your efforts, and will always love you and your work. Your music is a shining example of beauty and virtue, and your commitment to protecting the Earth perfectly aligns with all we hold nearest and dearest. Rest assured, long after you’re gone, until our very last days, we’ll continue singing your songs, rockin’ your tunes, and spreading your message of love for the Earth and kindness for our fellow earthlings.
In closing, on behalf of all your fans, we’d like to give one more big thank-you, to you and all of your team, who made the Love Earth tour possible. From you and Daryl and Mo and Moon, to Micah and Corey and Anthony and Spooner, to Reverend Billy and Savitri and their talented troupe, to the guitar techs and all the road crew, a HUGE THANK YOU. You all came together to put on 29 incredible shows, and you brought huge joy to half a million people across the Earth.
Going on the road, away from home for three months can’t be easy. Thank you all for your sacrifices and commitment to excellence. Your efforts were a huge success and your work will be forever appreciated. After a long road, we offer you all a big welcome home. We hope your days are filled with peace, love, happiness, and continued good health.

I wanna preface this by saying that I will always love your music and that although I may disagree with some of your opinions, I respect your political convictions.
That being said, Im not particularly fond of Trump either, but in your new song big crime and lets roll again off the new record, you’re throwing around the word fascist. If you’re a fascist, then get a Tesla. Do you truly think Trump supporter joe schmo with a 9 to 5 is really a fascist? Do you really think Trump is akin to Mussolini? Hitler? Francisco Franco? Kim Jong Un? More of a fascist than Mao? Pol Pot? To quote our 44th president, come on, man.
I know you’ve had your fair share of getting accused of being a communist or a socialist, and is it true? I don’t think so. I hope not at least. Isn’t that kind of the same thing I was just talking about with the fascist thing? Like you’ve been saying in the middle of your concerts this summer, which i was at the Bethel show (it was fantastic by the way) we gotta take care of each other! We do gotta take care of each other and back and forth naming calling ain’t that!
I think in the wake of the political assassination of Charlie Kirk both left and right need to take a step back and realize that we are all human beings. Human beings! People all trying to get to the same outcome. Don’t you think when an already mentally unstable person keeps hearing this is a fascist thats a fascist they wouldn’t get violent? When a life is taken like that politics seems redundant. Call him a fascist whatever, but he was a father, a husband, a son, a brother, a friend. And it frustrates me that at the time of me writing this, the only thing you’ve mentioned about it was a joke on the front page of the Contrarian about your album Trans being a suspect for the FBI, instead of condemning it or disavowing it. People are more mad about Jimmy Kimmel! I think Charlie Kirk getting killed is more of an attack on free speech than somebody’s show getting suspended for a few days. Jimmy still gets to hug his children. Everything is so ass backwards anymore.
I’m not trying to change your mind or anybody else who happens to read this’s mind. I just think we all need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Politics is consuming a lot people’s lives and its making them bitter and isolated. Families getting split up over it. I’m tired of it. This phrase is getting thrown around a lot but its true, we as people need to “turn the temperature down.” Left and Right. we need to remember that we are all humans living on the same Earth.

Hey Neil,
Loved the show at the Hollywood Bowl on Sept 15. Great setlist performed with high energy. I particularly enjoyed hearing the cuts from Greendale. I’ve always loved the music on that album, and it was nice to hear those songs live again—for me first time since the 2003 tour.

Hi Neil,
Any chance we will get more albums, both old and new, on Blu-Ray Audio? Atmos and 5.1 hi-res mixes are cool, and I’d love more 24/192 stereo mixes on disc. Downloads are nice, and I’m a physical media kinda guy! I’ve got Psychedelic Pill on Blu-Ray spinning now, and it sounds stellar! Anyway, I listened to the Rhino release of Black Sabbath Paranoid in hi-res quad and stereo before this, and it was great, too. I’m thinking of buying these instead of vinyl now if more stuff gets released this way.
