CRAZY HORSE 70s LIVE?

Hi Neil,

I hope you’re enjoying the tour you are doing! I saw you in Brussels, I loved it!

Got a question/request, could you release more 1970 Crazy Horse live shows on the Archives website? I would love to hear concerts from the same tour as “Live at the Fillmore East” one.

Thank you very much.

And thanks to the band and and the crew for this Love Earth Tour. It is a real pleasure to see you live &;-)

INTERGENERATIONAL PARTY

Dear Neil,

I’d like to thank you and the Hearts for the Stuttgart concert and was very happy that you found your passport to cross the Swiss-German border (the Canadian or the American one?). Yes, the audience in Stuttgart being seated only was annoying. My son and I had been waiting on the rail for the show to start when security made us leave back for the seats.

Still it was a great pleasure to hear those Greendale songs. Back in the day, my then seven-year-old son scribbled Green family trees that included himself and his dad. Twenty-two years later, the young man who just has finished his doctorate in political sciences was sitting by my side. Looking at the audience (and those crowds through the decades since 1982), I always noticed the intergenerational bonds that your music is able to create, strengthen, and maintain over a long time. I am not surprised that there are downsides to this, also, but in the end the love you give.…

Listening to these songs and many of the others again was almost like having a big party with all these lifelong friends who are intertwined with one’s own biography, a pretty overwhelming experience. “Needle” being the first song I learnt playing on guitar, taught by a street musician when I hitchhiked as a fifteen-year-old through Alsace-Lorraine in France. “Like a Hurricane” is my first kiss, you get the idea.

You mentioned looking for songs to be included in a project documenting this tour, songs rarely played live and which have not seen a live release. “Peace Trail” and “LeNoise” songs came to my mind, also tracks from the “The Visitor.”

I wish you a great finale of this tour leg in London and Paris (Europe!), a good rest after this, and hope for another round next year. Stay healthy, please.

Thanks again
Dionys

BRAZIL

Hello Neil,

I traveled all the way from Brazil to Brussels last week for the honor of attending your concert for the first time. You must remember the heat—I certainly remember the gig! Memories for a lifetime.

I’m writing this just hours after the orange man tried to interfere with Brazil’s rule of law, announcing tariffs because he’s unhappy that one of his global fascist pals, Bolsonaro, is facing federal charges. Bolsonaro will likely end up in jail for attempting a coup to overturn Brazil’s election results. It’s the same playbook we’ve seen before. But we’re really fighting back here. We’re still a free country (though, as you know better than most, democracy can’t be taken for granted).

That’s why I’d humbly suggest considering a concert in Brazil. It’s been a while. Your voice of freedom would mean a great deal to us right now, while we can still fight to hold these abject figures accountable for their crimes. You can certainly raise awareness, as you always did. And awareness is something we really need these days, in order to protect our free world. Together we can certainly keep on rockin’.

Thanks for being you.

Love from Latin America and best regards from Brazil,

AC.

TOUR LOGBOOK

Hello de Paris

Thank you for these few reflections on this wonderful musical journey on the NYA Times-Contrarian.

This logbook, which takes us on a journey, is a wonderful idea.

I don’t know Ireland or the other European countries you visited, but all your descriptions, as well as the “Linkvolt ballads,” give me the impression of “knowing” these unknown places; with what you describe, I feel as if I know them well, or rather, I’m as close as possible to the Earth and humanity.

Thank you for all these moments. While waiting for your visit on July 13th, I’m following you from afar and listening to you closely.

Thank you, Neil Young.
Thank you, NYA.

HYDE PARK

Hi Neil,

It was so awesome to see you at Hyde Park last night, the culmination to a great afternoon of performances by Van Morrison and Yusuf Cat Stevens. Your headlining set was sensational. You and the Chrome Hearts were like a raging volcano and the selection of songs was brilliant. I had to sit down for the epic finale though, but it was enthralling. Really glad I came—this was a real treat after a hard week at work—but this might also be the last time I go to a festival on a hot, hot day. It’s so physically demanding. But what a way to finish! From now on, it’ll be indoor and seated shows for me. Thank you Neil and the Chrome Hearts for a brilliant, memorable night. I will not forget it!

HYDE PARK

Haven’t seen you since 2019 when you last played Hyde Park with Dylan and you guys sounded so good and were on point last night. Seamless!

What a great set list kicking off with Ambulance Blues that blew everyone’s mind.
Not heard you play that since Hammersmith Apollo 2008/09?
I think we all could have gone home happy just hearing that.
So poignant and direct!
Thank you

MONCHENGLADBACH

Dear Neil,

I had an absolute blast at the gig in Mönchengladbach recently! Not only was it the first time I saw you perform live, it was also the first time I heard the amazing ‘Ambulance Blues’! What a song! I don’t know what it is actually about, but I know it’s always going to get me. Well, I guess that’s the magic of music.

Thank you so much for all you do!

HYDE PARK

Hi

Yesterday I was at The Hyde Park show. I never do this usually but today I feel compelled to write in. The show was something else—just brilliant. The performance had an intensity and vitality that I’ve rarely seen at a live show. Just fantastic. The sound was amazing! I’ve been to several of The Hyde Park BST events and the sound hasn’t been a patch on yesterday. Thank you!!

Best wishes
Jamie

HOW FRIENDS MEET

Funny how Neil Young fans meet. I work seasonally at Mount Rushmore & every year my company hires J1’s foreign students from all over the world. One young man in his early twenties from Thailand I got to know, who goes by the name of Knot (they never use their real names). I happened to ask why did he want to come to America, and all he said was Classic Rock—specifically NEIL YOUNG.

He didn’t know how big a fan I am of yours. He further explained that his dream was to see you in concert (you will be touring America soon) and I was flabbergasted. I gave him the link to your concerts & your NYArchives app plus my complete collection of your music on a flash drive. He got in touch with his father from Bangkok (who also loves your work) & he will fly here in America to see you with his son.

DALHALLA SWEDEN

Hej Neil

Thank you for playing and singing at Dalhalla in Sweden! God it made me so warm and happy. Heard After the Goldrush in 1974, 17 years old, and have been listen to your music ever since.
Heard you stayed at a hotel in Tällberg. So did we, but in a different hotel I suppose. Had been so nice to say hello to you.

My husband really never listened to your music and was not too excited to go to Dalhalla but he changed his mind totally after the concert. So now we both love you and your music.

Lots of love to you and your family♥️
and thank you for your music, words and voice that touches our souls

PARIS – FAMILY

Hi Neil!

Jordi from Barcelona writing. I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a wonderful experience my family and I had at your concert in Paris on July 13th. For the first time, I was accompanied by my daughter and my wife. It was a fantastic family event, and your concert was absolutely magnificent.

Thank you for providing such an incredible musical experience over the years. I wish you and your family good health and happiness.

HYDE PARK

Hello Neil,

Congrats on a brilliant gig at London Hyde Park last Friday. Me and my friend Ros were there and we were blown away.

We are doing our bit to protect our own little patch of Mother Earth in England. We run a small organisation called Green Appleton which is rewilding the churchyard, encouraging people to value local wildlife by setting up trail cameras and recording the changing seasons at photo stations. We also run Repair Cafes to promote sustainability. Check out our website if you are interested.

Thanks a lot and good luck with the rest of the tour.

Hey Neil,
I hope you’re enjoying a nice rest after that wonderful tour. The Chrome Hearts wrapped your songs in a nice warm blanket of rhythm and rock. I’ve watched a bunch of YouTube videos and can envision a double vinyl release. How ’bout you?

LOVE EARTH

Dear Neil, band and crew,

The Love Earth Tour—Europe 2025 … wow.

Of course you saw and heard the fans—loving, and fully present. But have you also seen the critics? The reviews? The newspapers across all the countries you visited? Well, we know the media isn’t always the most reliable … but this time, they got it exactly right. What a triumph.

We were there with the whole family for the Groningen show (Netherlands).
(Ssst … the kids were impressed—and we already knew they would be. 😉 )

Thank you for a memorable night we already cherish.

DUBLIN / PARIS

Hi Neil,

Just wanted to thank you for the great shows in Dublin and Paris—two legendary nights! You and the band sounded amazing. I really loved the setlist you chose (and even hearing “Ordinary People” and “Down by the River” during the Dublin soundcheck was a bonus joy).

I also met some great people while we were queuing for the front row—the music truly brings people together. I know you prefer outdoor venues these days, but it was great to be able to get closer to the stage in Paris.

Can’t wait to hear how the live album turns out—it’ll be wonderful to have a souvenir from this tour. Hope to see you back in Europe soon, and hopefully this time you’ll visit Glasgow again.

Have fun on the U.S. leg of the tour—the people there are going to love it!

Love and only love,
Dror

TOUR LOGBOOK QUOTE

“its my life, not the phone’s”—fave quote from the enjoyable Love Earth diaries. Did some time offline last week during a 16mm filmmaking retreat/refresh. Still going off-news and social media. Feels better. Have even been off the set list reports, which was not easy! Great to see Daddy Went Walkin’ on the possible live release list. Passed through the area where he might have done just that.

Have a good ‘tween time. Glad you so enjoyed Euro leg. See y’all before too long.
