Language fails me, so I’ll say just this. Millions of folks hold Neil Young close and I have only grown more appreciative of his profound artistry over decades….he has given me the exhilaration in college of running home with a bootleg album in 1971 with such joy…..and now in 2024 an equally epic experience of thankfulness and completeness when Robert, my 5 year old grandson, the joy of my life, only wants to hear ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ at full tilt whenever we get into our car. And, for the record, whenever I am singing to myself, like in a grocery store, if I don’t have it just right with a verse, I get to hear “Papa that’s not right!” followed by an admonishment and a correct lyric. NEIL!!!! Two words – THANK YOU !!!!!
