John Quigley was my High School Art Teacher and the single most important influence in my becoming an Artist.
He recognized that I had a natural sense of Design and Composition and then taught me the intricacies of using a Color Wheel to achieve balance and visual harmony in my paintings.
A balanced color palette,combined with a disciplined color scheme was like playing a well tuned guitar as opposed to playing out of tune,the result being the viewers ability to become drawn into the artwork and hold their interest for long enough to create an emotional bond between them….a successful work of art subliminally pleasing and memorable.
I have used what he taught me continuously and I would not be the successful Artist I am today without his mentoring….. thank you from the bottom of my heart Mr.Quigley and may you Rest In Peace. – Mazz
