Peace Trail was recorded in 2016 in the days leading up to the election of president Trump. Jim Keltner drums and Paul Bushnell, bass, were with me on this record which was finished right around election day. Slammed by critics for not being up to their exacting musical standards, Peace Trail is one of my favorites of the last decade and was beyond their grasp. Not every recording is a grab at perfection or commerciality. Peace Trail is in a class by itself. Luckily, I had been around long enough and made enough records to realize that. ‘Glass Accident’ and ‘My New Robot’ are among my favorites.
