LONG MAY YOU RUN – The Stills-Young Band

released 9-10-1976

This album, recorded with my old friend Stephen Stills, is a favorite of mine. Mostly because the music reminds me of those good times after Stephen and I met in Fort William Ontario Canada. The Squires were playing at a coffee house, the Fourth Dimension and Stephen showed up in a band called ‘The Company’ from New York. They played for a week and moved on to Winnipeg and Regina. I was pretty impressed with a band from the big city, where Bob Dylan was living and playing at the time. That was 1966.

Stephen and I hit it off really well and liked playing together. We agreed we would like to meet ‘down the road’ and play again in a new group. When I finally got to Hollywood a couple of years later, by chance I found him and we started Buffalo Springfield with Richie Furay, who had come to LA from New York to play with Stephen. I arrived with Bruce Palmer and in Hollywood we found Dewey Martin, our drummer.

Long May You Run was released in 1976.

Stephen and I go way back! Long May You Run Stephen!
