AMERICANA – Neil Young & Crazy Horse
released 6-5-2012
We got together at Broken Arrow Ranch and recorded in the white House living room. J Hanlon had the greenboard and the brass board set up in a nearby bedroom which became the control room.
The idea here was to get the Horse together to play, having not recorded since ‘Greendale’ was recorded in 2002.
We had a good time. I thank the Horse for indulging my idea, which I still love. Today I enjoy watching the black and white videos made to accompany the classic Americana folk tunes we played in our own style.
As soon as Americana was finished, we started playing ‘Psychedelic Pill’ and just kept going.
