Hi fellow Members,
I’m a long time Mayor, Supervisor, and principal owner of the town of Bluesville! (Just across the Emmy Lou Memorial Bridge and over the hill from scenic downtown Greendale). My administration was responsible for insisting our new bridge was an authentic re-creation! I’m just upriver from the ELMB. That smell permeating the valley is from our industrial park. I know that other communities have long chastised us for our strip clubs, pool halls and houses of…ill repute. But, our refinery, sugar mill and chemical plant bring thousands of jobs into the valley. I shouldn’t think a harmless little tickle in your sinuses would be that big a deal.
Oh, and the promised tests came back and I was right all along, a funny taste doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with the drinking water at ALL! Cost me a bundle to have those tests run and ALSO I don’t want to hear any moaning about the big fish kill last summer.
I was fishing off the big pier behind the chemical plant last weekend and filled a cooler with fish. I don’t know what kind they were. I’d never seen any like that ’round heya, they had lots of pretty colors though. Tasted damn good too. If ya cook um on high and tilt the skillet the mercury runs right out to the bottom of the pig fat. We’ll have to do lunch at my place sometime…both being the professional journalist we are, I can write it off, right?
In regard to Ms. Judy Greenberg’s recent Member Central question…s, I think it’s great that the Horse rides again and I’m sure everyone is in for a hell of a show. I’ve yet to hear the latest platter but look forward to it even more than losing my virginity. One of these shows I’m bound to get lucky…er. Everybody else seems to get lucky when the Horse plays…one of these days it’ll be ME, I just know it.
I hope…still, so, I’ll carry on because the love I have to burn is burning…fast.
Before I get to the business at hand, I might have a problem with one of Judy’s conditions. About being…brief.
Will boxer briefs work? Walmart was out of briefs the last time I was there, I hope writing in these old baggy ones will do? They are kinda like our Holy Barn Cult Churches TOO…full of authentic wear holes.
I’m also kinda strapped for cash…I’m savin up for a…pre-sale.
Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Jose Emanez. No wait, I was that one this morning..so many to keep track of…(astronaut humor is a tough sell anyway)
I’m C.A.Travirca lll, aka catman, from Kiln Hights, Bluesville, Ms. Phone number and physical address available on request.
I’m simi-retired from…everything up to mountains higher to sea valleys deep.
I’m currently restoring to its authentic original glory, a 100+ year old family home simi-part time all the time, spending the rest of my time feeling like another fool in line waiting for those pearly gates to burst open and invite the guy next to me in…being the last of ANYone from my days that used to be will suit me fine. I’m sure to make my way around the bend eventually…just later that sooner, would be preferable for me.
My favorite hometown band was the Grateful Dead but if Neil had bought one of the MANY more attractive and way more, cheaper ranches north of the Golden Gate they would not have been.
I was in the 8th grade when I was first…exposed. Infected?
No…Inoculated !!!
In 1967, Sit Down I Think I Love You was the number one grooviest sound in the air. It was neck and neck between Crazy Horse and the Dead for-almost-ever after. I’ll be a 7th cavalry man from here on out, I reckon…always searching never finding that elusive ol’ Crazy Horse.
Sorry Jerry but Neil has you on seniority alone at this point.

This photo is my favorite picture and most valued possession. It is a picture of them both playing on stage, the only time they did so, at the Bill Graham Memorial Concert in Golden Gate Park. The long tale it represents having been such a personal part of my journey…is a story that, ever unfolding, would be better told at a different time and place. It’s one I can’t tell any better at this point and one that, as it turns out, entailed a good bit of pain for a very dear friend of mine so why go back into that ditch again with so many more fresh ditches so close at hand?
Suffice it to say, at somehow 70 now, from SDITILY to Chance on Love I can honestly say that Neil has had the single greatest influence on my life and the values that I now cling to as best as I can. Always an inspiration through good times and bad so, as with so many others, my debt to him is beyond redemption.
My humble 8 acres has lots of elbow room if any fellow Patron member that finds themselves on the road and in need of shelter from the storm. You might even get lucky. Neil has promised to play out back by the fire…any day now. I can almost hear the knots crackin, can’t you?
Acoustic, one set only– live recording available for pre-order…yep, any one of these crazy old days now…any day now…any day.
One day for sure, mebe…when we’ve both got the time, before time runs out on us all
catman…tymll,
formally known as ‘C’man…isya,
formally known…
before that as
catman…ttyl too, even.
PS…I wonder if Judy ever heard back from our beloved Editor on that raise I asked about the last time she and I had textual intercourse? I know that I hadn’t listed any expectations of the amount of increase but now that I’m going to have been published in an actual COLUMN I should think that doubling my current salary isn’t out of line, do you?
Heck, I might even settle for a better title?
Assistant to the assistant intern doesn’t have the ring of authority that I need.
catman CEK of Public Relations…yep, that’s it, Chief Executive Kook does have a nice ring to it, don’t ya think?
PSs… For the benefit of the newer readers of mine and as a point of journalistic accuracy I would like to point out that there’s a vast difference between has and is. It would be unjust of me to allow anyone to have greater expectations than my own.
Expectations?
No…how about wishful thinking?
Okay…mental masturbation but you never know it just might happen…someday.
😇
