Often people underestimate the importance of various work roles in our society. Many may look down on those who perform what may be considered menial tasks, while giving great respect to others in positions of authority.
The truth is all jobs are important and should be regarded as such. The mayor may run the town, but hardly anyone notices if he or she takes some time off. Everyone notices if the truck drivers, food service workers, or garbage collectors are gone for a few days.
No one should consider themselves “too good” to perform certain tasks that are necessary to keep things going. It’s a long fall from a high horse.
No matter the job, we should all take pride in what we do for a living, and should also respect others for their vocational contributions.
