SOLO SHOWS
Shakey,
I know you have always followed the musical muse into the future and it seems you react to your feeling versus planning your future projects.
With that said, do you remain open to the idea of future solo shows? I could not make the Coastal Tour (live in the Midwest), but it would be a dream to be able to attend a solo show. To me, there is something so magical about purity of a performer and their acoustic instruments.
Thanks for your time, as always.
Aaron
Aaron,
Yes, I hope to do some solo shows soon.
Thanks

EARTH VILLAGE VOTE TABLE
Hey Neil,
Congratulations on the amazing 2025 Love Earth tour. I saw six shows between Germany and the East Coast US and they were all stunning. That Ambulance Blues is a thing of dreams and Long Walk Home was such a surprise and simply breathtaking. Every shows was a truly wonderful experience. Thanks so much for still being out there giving it your all.
Afterwards, some friends and I were discussing “just singing a song won’t save the world.” And our conversation led to, that while it’s really important to sing songs of justice and freedom, more will be required of all of us or many of us in this day and age.
As I was thinking about this, it made me think back to the last Frank Zappa tour in 1988 and how he used to have a get out the vote table registering people to vote at all of his concerts and encouraging the same from the stage. This made me think about your earth village with all the booths at your concerts. And I wondered if there would be a place in there for get out the vote table? it would be really important for our democracy, if we still have it next time you tour. Maybe it is already there and I just missed it?
Thanks for listening.
-Pete
Thanks Pete
We will make sure to include Get The Vote Out from now on

ORS 6
Hi Neil, my parents played your early records all growing up, and they were at the famous Massey Hall show in 1971. I’ve been a fan now for 40 years, but they’ve been fans since 1966 and Springfield! I’ve had a chance to see you seven times now, including August 17 in Toronto. You still bring down the house every single time. Anyway, just wanted to tell you how much we all love you and your music. I’m very excited about the new Official Release Series 6, all of those albums, primarily Mirror Ball, were a huge part of my youth. Cheers!

FILM TRAILER
Hey Neil.
For the past eight years I’ve been living on a 300-acre off-grid farm community on remote Cortes Island, BC.
… and I made a pretty okay documentary about it.
It’s about living a life closer to the land, feeling the rhythm of the seasons, and facing the inevitable cycles of growth and decay that surround us all.
I’d love to share it with ya. Here’s a trailer. Please drop me a line if you want to see the whole thing.
much love and gratitude.

LIFETIME OF WORK
Hi Neil, I was at your recent concert in Burnaby on the 6th of September with my son. I’m 75 and have seen you live maybe four or five times, the last time being when it was just you on the stage with a bunch of instruments at the White River Amphitheater south of Seattle. I just wanted to thank you for your lifetime of work, for your good heart, and your commitment to social justice, peace, and sane government. Unlike some of your contemporaries, whose concerts are more like memory lane, you’re still kickin’ it, creating and playing beautifully. While I loved your solo concert most of all because it was just you, the Burnaby concert was the best ever in many ways, and I so appreciate that at 79 you’re still being creative and passionate and active. That’s all, just wanted to say thank you. And I hope you’ll be back again soon.
All the Best,
Carl Binder
Thanks Carl

WHIZZER
Hi Neil (or maybe Larry Cragg?)—
Someone recently posted some great photos of The Ducks in Santa Cruz, from 9/2/1977. There’s a strange silver box atop your amp in the background in some of them. Might it be an early version of the Whizzer??
Regardless, thanks for a lifetime of wonderful music and beautiful guitar tones!
Gabriel Voiles
Yes Gabriel, an early version I think…..
Thanks

SPOONER
Hi Neil,
Great show last night at Shoreline and hopefully will be at Hollywood Bowl on Monday too. After being at Dublin and Hyde Park too, I can’t get enough. These are great shows—you and the band are in your element, in the prime of life.
Big love to Spooner who needed assistance to leave the stage last night, but is as big a part of the sound as any of the band.
Peace,
AH
Thanks AH
We love playing.

CHROME HEARTS
Neil,
ChatGPT, which at first (very surprisingly) didn’t find the Long May You Run lyric despite checking literary sources as far back as the 19th century, says that your use of the phrase “chrome heart” is clearly the first recorded instance and easily predates use in the late 1980s for a provisional film title or later for the clothing brand.
If the company copyrighted the term as a clothing brand name, then that is presumably a potential problem, but in my opinion you may well have a case for counterclaiming copyright on the phrase itself and thus perhaps extenuating circumstances for the copyright infringement.
It may well be that the clothing company was obliged to research the term when the copyright registration was made and to request your permission.
This from me as a total non-expert, and no doubt you have thought of all this already! But just in case!

TALKIN TO THE TREES
HOLLYWOOD BOWL
Hey Neil, I’m 19 and a college student in California Institute of the Arts majoring in Photography and Media. I was born in England and moved to New York with my family when I was young. I feel really disconnected from my surroundings sometimes and nowhere really feels like home. Everything feels so insane nowadays and your music is the only thing that grounds me.
Your new album Talkin’ To The Trees is one of my favorite of all time, the song Talkin’ to the Trees is my favorite on the album. I’ve probably listened to it 100 times. I just always find myself contemplating with nature and wondering why people try so hard to destroy it. Right now I’m pretty lonesome; my girlfriend’s back in New York, but we talk on the phone all the time. I’ll often listen to Love in Mind and think of her.
I’m going down to the Hollywood Bowl this Monday to see you for the first time and I’m more than ecstatic, I hear you’ve been opening your sets with Ambulance Blues, which is one of my all-time favorites. I’ve never written to you before, I don’t really know if you read these; I hope you read this. I know I didn’t really ask a question or anything but it was nice to write this.
-Joseph
Thanks Joseph
Hope you liked the show!

DOWN UNDER
Hi Neil,
Just wanted to pass on my observations from Down Under. In your adopted country at the moment everyone is just yelling at each other and is badly in need of calm, considered leadership. I have gone ‘out of my mind’ lately with media content and have had to completely stop reading news as it’s depressing and maddening. It it possible you could add a section to the Times about ‘good, positive news’ happening around the world?
All the best for the tail end of your US tour, come to Australia 🙂
Andy
Thanks Andy
hope we can do it…..

ALL IS NOT LOST
Thank you Neil and the Chrome Hearts for the powerful, beautiful Shoreline show on Friday night. The music was amazing and lifted me out of my ever-increasing, mind-numbing ‘state of our country’ stupor. Your presence and the gift of your music reminded me that all is not lost!
Thank you!

SHORELINE
Hello Neil and crew,
I flew across the country to San Francisco with my wife to see you and the Chrome Hearts, as well as dear friends, at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View on September 12th. I first saw you in London on November 5, 1973 in London, a show recently released on a bootleg as Somewhere Under The Rainbow. I left that first show inspired and elated just like the night before last. Thank you for always giving your best, and I especially want to give a shout out to your band who are mostly from my hometown of Austin, Texas. Of course with the noted addition of music icon Spooner Oldham, whom I’ve loved for a great part of my life. All the people with me ranging from age 16 to 69 were blown away by your performance and the magic in the air on Friday. This music will stick with me for a long time. Fifty-two years of live music and I’m still with you all the way.
Love, Stephen
Thanks Stephen

BEND
Hi Neil,
Thank you so much for the incredible show at Bend last week.
You and The Chrome Hearts sounded great and the setlist was unbelievable. It looked like you were making some very spontaneous choices of what to play as each song ended. I never thought I would see all of those epic Crazy Horse songs in one show and we loved your new songs. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay in beautiful Oregon and we look forward to seeing you again soon! Thank you for bringing so much positive energy to our community during these stressful times.
Sincerely,
Drew and Karen

DEER LAKE PARK
Neil,
Congrats on another amazing summer tour. I was lucky and honoured enough to attend both Burnaby shows. I’ve seen a couple shows at Deer Lake Park in the past, but I am wondering if you will keep this beautiful and pristine outdoor venue as a stop on future tours? My girlfriend and I took ample time to walk around the park and enjoy the scenery and wildlife before one of the shows and we were so satisfied with the location.
Cheers!

SECOND BEST IS GREAT!
Dear Neil,
My 11-year-old son Jakob is a huge fan of your music. We listen to your music every day from his room. His favorite songs are “Heart of Gold” and “Rockin’ in the Free World.” At the beginning of July 2025, he saw you live at the Waldbühne in Berlin, and he was so moved that he cried during the first two songs. He said that was the second best day of his life (the best day was the day we adopted our cat, Iggy).
Thank you for still making such beautiful music, which has accompanied us for many years now.
Best wishes from Hanover, Germany
Elke with Jakob

CHROME HEARTS
I note that The words “Chrome Heart” are in the lyrics of “Long May You Run,” which was the title track of the Stills Young Band album released in 1976. Perhaps you should sue for unauthorised use of your lyrics?
Warm regards
Neil
Thanks Neil

MILANO SHOW
Hey brother,
Found this wonderful show from May 5, 1987 in Milano, Italy on YouTube the other night.
Such a great energy. Is this the famous riot show brought on by the Italian military? Not a lot of information online about that night, but I did find this interesting news segment from Italy.
I remember seeing those wild times on the Muddy Track film, what I remember most is you saying you do not support any political party, that you are there for the people. That is my sentiment exactly…. All parties are corrupt. No parties are worthy of endorsement. None of them represent the people.
See you on the road,
Shawn
Thanks Shawn

DEER PARK
Hi Neil. Really enjoyed seeing you with the Chrome Hearts a few weeks ago. Thank you for coming to Vancouver. I understand you will be doing a live album of the tour! This is great news! Any chance you will “re-mix” and then re-release Noise and Fl though…..owers? The sound on that album was a big miss and I’d love to hear what it sounds like when given the proper treatment it deserves.
Thanks,
Scott
Thanks Scott
i will check those albums…..see it I agree….probably not though.

SHOWS
Hey Neil—
Thanks for the Memories. I’m just a Jersey guy who just saw two incredible Gigs: your Woodstock show with my brother and the grand finale at the incredible Hollywood Bowl with some high school friends of 50-plus years. Have a blast at Farm Aid next weekend and thanks for all you do and say hello to Willie for me.
Thanks
Enjoy the music!

Thanks for your photos on this tour and the culminating one with Neil looking out from the Bowl stage. We appreciate your wandering to the extremes of the physical spaces. Very immersing and cool. Life-enhancing tour felt by many. Rest good, all. Merci.
