Recorded in a beautiful old mansion in Silverlake California, Le Noise is produced by Daniel Lanois, the great Canadian artist-producer. Le Noise is a solo record, made with electric guitar and amplified acoustic guitar. The sound of the recording is very original, with Daniel creating a completely unique ambience.
Le Noise is one of my favorite albums because of its originality. There are some of my favorite songs on it, including ‘Sign of Love’ and ‘Love and War’.‘You Never Call’ was written for my life long friend LA Johnson, who had passed away tragically just prior to the recording.
CK Vollick shot the whole process and a film of these sessions shows the mansion and the unique vibe.
