OFFICIAL BOOTLEG SERIES REBOOT

-Update

The Volume Dealers had completed the first 6 ‘Official Bootleg’ releases and were in the process of mastering. Originally, we envisioned launching the series all at once on a tentative schedule of April 2021. Suddenly the whole series would be available to all! Very exciting. But you know what happened…… Fires and Floods, Covid…..

Of the six releases still coming to you, four are our own multi track masters, so they will sound amazing – much better than the original bootlegs you may have heard. One of the other two is the original tape it was recorded on. We remastered it. Here is what we have for you:

Carnegie Hall Dec 4 1970 – first show. Only the midnight show has been released on Bootleg but this unreleased early show is the special one.
We have our own mixes made from the multi-track recording we did that night. Henry Lewy in the truck.

Royce Hall. January 30, 1971
This is a beautiful show that had a very limited bootleg release. With our own mixes made from the multi-track recording we did that night, this show will sound like you are there. Henry Lewy in the truck.

Dorothy Chandler Pavillion. Feb 1, 1971
“I’m happy that Y’all came down”. This was a quite popular bootleg when it first appeared.
Again, we have our own mixes made from the multi-track recording we did that night and they sound unreal. Henry Lewy in the truck.

Under The Rainbow. Nov 3, 1973
The Tonight’s the Night Tour at the Rainbow Theater in London, ‘The Santa Monica Flyers’ are at the top of their game. Here we used the best sounding tape we could find. We had a lotf help from folks like Joel Bernstein.

The Bottom Line.
‘Citizen Kane Jr. Blues’ May 16, 1974

This New York club solo show is a collection of very early performances of new songs from the time. We have the original cassette the show was recorded on, and have mastered it. The Volume Dealers have made this show sound like you are right there. And of course- you are. A rare glimpse at many “first ever” performances, it’s a unique collection, the ony acoustic collection from that post ‘On The Beach’ period.

The Ducks – ‘Trick of Disaster’ August 1977
Recorded in out our analog truck- ‘His Master’s Wheels,’ by Tim Mulligan, engineer-producer.
The legendary Ducks:
– Jeff Blackburn, ‘Blackburn and Snow’
– Bob Mosley, ‘Moby Grape’
– Johnny C (Craviatto) ‘legendary drum maker’
– NY

We are fortunate to have recorded several of the Ducks’ shows in multiple Santa Cruz clubs during the Duck’s run in 1976. Tim Mulligan has mixed and assembled a multi-platter set from this legendary band. It’s unbelievable that we now have this collection for you. Songs sung and written by the Ducks will all be heard in full fidelity. Again, produced by Tim Mulligan in ‘His Master’s Wheels’.
