Don Marshall played drums in The Esquires, the first band i ever played in. I only did a few gigs with them. One I remember was at a church dance. Ken Johnson was the lead singer. George was the lead guitar player.
It was a thrill to play my first time with this band. Lately Don and I have been corresponding and I sent him the NYA VIII box set, which he was thrilled with. While I was getting ready to write to him the other morning, I found his wife Mona had sent his obituary. Don was a good guy. She wrote ‘he is at peace and gone home.’
