BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD AGAIN

Buffalo Springfield Again – Buffalo
Springfield

released 10-30-1967

The Beatles had put out Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and we were blown away like many others of the time. We were making ‘Again’. After we recorded the tracks, Stills and I returned the studio every day for a couple of weeks mixing and finishing, driving in together to the studio (Sunset Sound in Hollywood). Richie and Dewey came in too and we sometimes recorded with local musicians in Hollywood, Buddy Miles, Mac Rebenack (Dr. John the Night Tripper), Don Randi, Hal Blaine, Jim Gordon, Jack Nietzsche produced a song. We tried to make a great record after losing Bruce Palmer to a deportation order to Canada during that recording. ‘Mr. Soul’ from Atlantic Studio in New York City was great but we only worked with that engineer once. Darn he was good. First time we worked with an engineer like that. His name is nowhere to be found. Too bad! Listen to the acetate! It’s the same version as the one we synched to at the Hollywood Palace TV show.
