Traveling through Oregon…..
beautiful forests and plains toward Bend…….miraculous views……deep deep canyons, More music tonight……then California….
but now……….
BEND. Oregon is beautiful!…..natural beauty and landforms miles and miles without a ‘for sale’ sign on any property. ……..No one wants to leave! Walking by the river, there is no garbage. None. No garbage storage bins. Nothing. Totally clean. So great….So much to learn here in Bend…It’s a mystery town….a town of dreams….music will be here tonight along with a flash flood warning until 11PM…….
music was fun….lots of songs…….movin on now towards the ocean…. Oregon is what California once was….before it was over run by people and expansion…..but California is still great….rolling now…….
Big fire ahead… a funnel of smoke into the sky……not a fire….a power plant spewing….
in the distance th rolling hills of california ………clouds hangin’ overhead, welcoming to the past….to come along…or bring something new……..miles of burnt forest…..mecca is burning……..rest area 11 miles…..every tree gone….miles and miles…..not natural to have so many events like this…..climate change…..clean vs dirty…..$ vs health……hilltop, miles more burnt..how to clean up,,,manage,,,,live on….horizon shows trees standing….no a tree standing amidst the burn…..burn gone…..green returning…..can time do that?……
rough road in California…….Oregon was perfectly maintained…..California is low quality repairs that leave bumps that are accepted by California as a good road. nope………not good……Oregon beats California hands down……no contest……. bump bump….more burnt forests….going for miles…..musta been a helluva blaze….. Right Lane ends….rough road winds on…..classic beauty in the hills and forests rolling by…..field full of RVs……see a guy pickin up trash, carries it in a bag….just cleanin up…..one guy…..american….one…
small town rolls in….new prefabs, church, ….bump bump…Big interstate ahead…….super slab south into california….to avoid memory congestion in the city are….too much extra traffic….goin south and comin northerly from below SF bay area…..ez in ez out…..
staggering beauty on the interstate….trees both sides, hi mountain hills covered with them……descending through the trees and mountains……past the Rock Slide area…. on to the plains of mid- California eventually….. beauty for miles….natural……wow! just hit some smooth road! What a trip to lose the bumps!…SOUTH 5…..more burnt trees….miles…forest partly destroyed…..sad to see the damage from extreme climate…..Science says fossil fuels….an inconvenient truth…… yes it is…thousands of dead trees standing….ancient trees like spindles pointing in the air…barren….ancient beauty betrayed…
now a replanted section starting to get a hold…..

after an unexpected health emergency in the family and a surprise visit to the hospital right after the music stopped
we are back on track…….as we roll south now,….after the music at Shoreline where i missed seeing all my old friends because of that trip to the hospital…..
just now remembering a fantastic train seen on a siding in oregon near california border. it was hundred or so cream colored boxcars covered in graffiti in pastel colors all along the lower part….the train was so beautiful, on a siding, just sitting there…all pastel on cream. Amazing that someone did that to 100 cars in such an organized art attack!
